A dental extraction is the removal of tooth/teeth from the jaw bone. Dental extractions are typically done when the tooth is deemed unrestorable either by decay, fracture, periodontal disease, trauma, or other issues. Some teeth are removed due to spacing issues when it comes to orthodontics or wisdom teeth. While dental extractions are necessary in some cases, they are typically a last resort when restoring teeth.
